ABOUT CASTLE CONTRACTING:
Armed with a degree in civil engineering and a couple years of experience working for Fred Weber, Inc. Julie Ledbetter opened Castle Contracting in March 1995. Her aim was to build a company and provide excavation and concrete services to St. Louis area electrical and mechanical contractors…She also had the idea that she might just change the face of the Saint Louis construction industry.
Within five years Julie had quite literally become the “changing face of construction”. She had become an integral part of the AGC of St. Louis, Washington University Department of Construction, American Subcontractors Association and many other industry organizations. She founded St. Louis’ Young Constructors Forum which quickly became the nation’s leading chapter. She also found time to grow Castle Contracting.

Castle became St. Louis’ leading provider of civil services to Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing contractors in Saint Louis. Excavation, trenching and concrete work amounted to a $4 Million contractor by 2000, working on some of Saint Louis’ most prestigious and challenging jobsites.

Today Castle Contracting is a $10 Million firm with three key divisions – MEP Civil, Turnkey Utility, and Total Site Solutions. Castle’s resources include degreed construction managers who combine self-perform capability on sitework with professional construction management skills. Led by Scott Beutel, Castle’s field forces number 35 – 50 and include the following trades Operating Engineers, Eastern Missouri Laborers and the IBEW Local #2 outside linemen.

Key projects in the last two years include Utility Infrastructure at New Busch Stadium, Power Ductbank for Lindbergh Tunnel, KV Pharmaceutical Sitework and the Metro Cross County Extension.

Castle has recently added Directional Boring capability with the key addition of Brad Berlener and Bill Barton, and the premier boring rig in the industry.

If it’s a 100 linear foot bore around existing utilities or a $2 MM bundled site package, Castle Contracting stands ready to provide your civil services.
